AND THEN I GOT THIS LETTER FROM SETH. ;_________;

Snaketongue kind of figured he had learned his lesson — yes, it would be nice to not mispronounce everything ever, but if Nagendra has work for him to do that requires him to sound a little funny, well, maybe he shouldn’t go trying to subvert that in a little moment of egotism.
And then this letter. Oh my gosh. The full thing was so adorable and devastating, and Snaketongue felt like a heel. What good did that do anyone, him trying to fix his voice for a few minutes for sake of his own pride? Doesn’t Nagendra use those with handicaps and weaknesses for a reason — and shouldn’t he be an example of that to his companions instead of trying to show off?

Playing a priest is fun and also hard.
On a related note, that lower picture is now my official favourite sketch of Snaketongue ever.

More in the unexpected Snaketongue-gets-rid-of-his-lisp-and-learns-a-valuable-lesson subplot. THIS WAS KIND OF HEARTBREAKING AND CUTE.
See, Chester and Snaketongue are bros, despite the fact that Chester’s short-term memory approximates that of Dory from Finding Nemo. ST is patient about reminding her of things, and she had started actually remembering him because of his speech impediment — she can’t remember his name, though, so she just calls him “Ththhhh” instead.
Turns out the impediment is sort of an essential part of that memory.
But she was SO HAPPY to recognise him when he changed back, and Snaketongue kind of quietly realised that maybe the ability to speak normally isn’t everything.

(P.S. Did I mention Chester has a mustache now? The mustache is Snaketongue’s fault; another messed-up spell. She’s actually really happy with it so BULLET DODGED.)

Last session of the Omen Campaign we played involved love potions in the water and werewolves and star-crossed lovers, but also a completely unexpected subplot when my unpredictable mage-priest Snaketongue was trying to cast Sleep and accidentally cast a 9th level Shapechange spell instead (he’s only a 4th level character; um, this happens to him sometimes). It was active for like half an hour and he could transform into anything he was familiar with.
ST became the master of using incredible cosmic power for stupid things by choosing “myself, but before my tongue splitting accident” as a form with which he was familiar, meaning he spent a big chunk of the session just revelling in his newfound ability to pronounce the letter S.
Seth, meanwhile, just became the master of backhanded compliments.

I don’t have time to be sketching this month, but I needed a sanity doodle pretty bad so I’m sacrificing sleep time ahahahalkjsdhfl;
Continuing the Seth n’ Crew sketches with Shazzbaa’s Snaketongue~ a kind hearted, creepy looking, scarred up, half-Lenzian mage-priest with a lisp. But most importantly, Seth’s meal ticket.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is so perfect
I HOPE YOU LIKE LENZIAN FOOD SETH

Cpt. Ezra is the best; everyone else can go home!

Okay that might be going a bit far but he’s pretty great. See, we played Omen again, that D&D game that we play in little one-session adventures (where I’m the lisping mage-priest) and this time we had a new player with a new character, Captain Ezra, who somehow ended up thrust into the dubious role of “police authority” for this adventure… authority we began to doubt he actually had.

To be fair, Cpt. Ezra isn’t a police officer at all, he’s a military captain and a SCIENTIST, but he took charge of the situation as best he could to SERVE HIS COUNTRY. Nagendra bless him, he tries.

Omen doodles again!
So you remember yesterday I mentioned we all broke out of jail? Everyone ELSE in the party hatched this elaborate plan with some guy running a 24/7 orgy brothel crime ring that Snaketongue really didn’t want to be working with, and they were gonna infiltrate a party held by one of the city’s OTHER crime lords and steal a thing for the guy WE were with so he could find the real assassin for us and clear our names and etc. etc. etc.

But since his failed spell had worn off by this point and we could all speak normally, Snaketongue washed his hands of the whole affair and went to turn himself back in and explain the misunderstanding. The guard he approached was really not understanding at all, as this earned the priest a dart to the neck, a blow to the head, and (once we were reunited) a stern lecture from the rogue on why we should never trust the police to be reasonable.
(It’s worth noting that the only reason they came back to rescue my sorry tranquilised ass is that they needed “someone with magic” to find the actual assassin and I fit the bill well enough.)
—
Best line of the night, when everyone else came back into the jail to get me out (again):
Shazz: “DO I SEE THAT HAPPENING?”
Zim: “NO! YOU’RE BEHIND BARS, FEELING DRUNK!!”

We played a session with the Omen group again!
Omen is the name our DM has given the crew of characters we used to play the All Soul’s Night one-shot from before! It’s a great go-to for one-shot sessions when we can’t get EVERYONE together for our normal games.
Today our party included:
Seth, the wheelchair-bound rogue and street-rat
Snaketongue, the mage-priest whose lisp makes all his spells a little unpredictable
Sa’ida, bard by class and dominatrix by trade
and Chester, the 5’ barbarian girl with short-term memory loss.
—-
So in this one we got thrown in jail.
It was basically Snaketongue’s fault, since he’d cast a spell that had the unfortunate/unintended side effect of getting us all stuck speaking a foreign language, which made us unable to explain ourselves to the police, so you know how it goes.
Snaketongue was all in favour of just waiting until the spell wore off, but everyone else was like “MAN I got places to BE, and we’re totally innocent so whatever,” so Seth picked the lock and everyone else escaped (after Chester offered to carry Seth’s wheelchair down the stairs). Snaketongue stayed behind. To, y’know, ACTUALLY FOLLOW THE LAW, which usually frowns upon breaking out of jail.

Seth, for some reason, decided to rectify this and sent Chester back to grab Snaketongue, asking her “Don’t you remember? He told you to carry him out here no matter how much he complains! >3 ” and so Snaketongue was thrown over her shoulder and broken out of jail against his will.

Then we remembered that Chester is 5-foot-nothing and Snaketongue is like six feet tall, and it was much more hilarious and required being illustrated.

All Soul’s Night - Introductions!
Been drawing this off-and-on during breaks at work… this is more or less how our party introduced itself. :”D AND WE’RE OFF TO A GREAT START.
Sa’ida may have been embellished slightly at the end there but it kinda seems like something she’d do.

One thing I really love doing is drawing a bunch of people’s D&D characters together, to see what the party looks like. We won’t actually know how these guys interact until the night of game, but I figured “Cranky cleric disapproves of dominatrix” and “Rogue pickpockets hapless priest” were safe enough bets. Also, big-ass sword!
Plus I just really wanted to try drawing everyone. This was supposed to be (a) basically headshots and (b) a really quick scribbly drawing but then I got carried away in some bits.
