As some of you know, I have a D&D character that was originally based on Jonan (the necromancer from my webcomic). And as you may or may not know, the world my DM has been using for games is actually the same world that the novel she’s writing takes place in. So basically where I’m going with this is that a character based on my D&D character who was based on Jonan has ended up playing a role in her novel.
She was pondering which of the way-too-many-white-people from the story’s early drafts would be good candidates for being people of colour instead, and I off-handedly suggested novel-Jonan (who is still a creepy necromancer but less of a jerkface than his webcomic parallel) and his older, handsomer, soon-to-be-lord brother, Jacob.
SO I VERY QUICKLY SCRIBBLED THESE
because I can’t resist a challenge to help her imagine it, and kinda enjoyed them as a quick little character design challenge AND WANTED TO SHARE. *u*
For reasons of a few characters being related to each other, their mom would have to be white, so they’d be of mixed race — in the top one they’re supposed to be half black and in the bottom one they’re supposed to be half Indian, but then I gave Jacob that Carlos-hair and they kinda end up looking a little hispanic instead OH WELL THAT WORKS TOO.
